Receipt builder and document formats
Settings > Receipt Builder manages reusable layouts. Invoices, repair intake/job-card documents and acknowledgments have distinct content. The account’s managed country and paper defaults must be correct before designing a template.
Editing and publication
- Select the intended document/template and branch scope. Confirm whether you are viewing a saved receipt or a sample transaction.
- Choose A4, 58 mm or 80 mm preview and edit the appropriate layout/field controls. Thermal configuration is separate: a field toggled for one format need not apply to every other document or paper.
- Inspect store name/address, currency symbol, tax labels/identifiers, document number, descriptions, totals and any required acknowledgment text.
- Upload legitimate business logo/signature files in Business Profile. Review those assets in the receipt. Avoid decorative content that displaces required transaction fields on narrow thermal paper.
- Save the supported draft state, then Publish template when ready and authorized. Unpublished edits do not become the active receipt just because they look correct in preview.
- Create an isolated rehearsal print for every paper size actually used at the counter. Check wrapping, clipping, margins and symbol support before normal use.
Historical receipts
Saved invoices retain their transaction and receipt snapshots. Editing a template applies to future documents after publication and must not rewrite the issued amounts or historical invoice identities. A sample preview is not an actual customer invoice.
Jurisdiction
The project supports India, the US, Canada, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and the UK configuration paths. Review country-specific tax and document requirements with the business’s responsible adviser. Selecting a country layout is not certification of every legal requirement or electronic invoicing integration.
Printers scanners and customer displays
Hardware must work through the Windows desktop and the selected device configuration. A successful software request does not prove that a physical device completed the action.
Thermal printer
- Install and test the printer in Windows. Confirm the real connection and paper width; generic 58 mm printers require a 58 mm receipt and matching driver paper settings.
- Select the intended printer in the available print flow. Check scale, orientation and margins on a rehearsal receipt.
- Verify the store name, long item descriptions, tax/currency symbols and final total on paper. Inspect for clipped edges or unsupported characters.
- If Windows accepts the request but nothing prints, inspect its queue, power, paper, connection and default printer before saving another transaction.
Barcode scanner
Use the scanner as a keyboard input device where supported. Focus the item-search field and scan a known barcode. The project includes handling for scanners that do not append Enter; confirm the actual device’s timing and the selected product/quantity. If a scan fails, inspect the original code and whether a spreadsheet import converted it to scientific notation. Never assume a scan was accepted just because the scanner beeped.
Pole display
Select the correct detected connection/COM port through the supported desktop configuration. Reconnect a device before retrying a port-open failure. Verify the customer-facing total and the post- payment/next-customer message on the actual display. The recorded Posiflex display was disconnected before final hardware acceptance, so its physical compatibility and exact protocol still require verification. A generic 58 mm printer produced a clear test receipt during project work. That result does not certify a different driver, Bluetooth profile, paper setting or replacement device.
